Hellsing: Volume 0 is the first volume of the prequel of the Hellsing series, The Dawn (or Gaiden in Japan). As an appendix to the February 2012 issue of "Young King OURs", a booklet containing all the chapters serialized in the magazines was made.

While its tankōbon form was released in 2012 as a 6-chapters short story for more Hellsing content, the original 6 chapters go back to 2001, running in Young King OURs Zōkan originally, before moving to Young King OURs+ just before being discontinued.

The Hellsing: Ultimate OVA adapted chapters 1 - 4, and included it as a special CD, with one per volume between OVA VIII, and OVA X.

Plot Synopsis

During the height of World War II, Nazi Germany seeks to strengthen their soldiers with technology crafted under the influence of vampiric biology. Out of fear of this technology turning the tide of war in the Axis's favor, Sir Arthur Hellsing enlists his butler and soldier Walter C. Dornez and their Trump Card, Alucard to put a stop to the German plot, sending the two men into a conflict that will scar them both forever.
