Desert Guardian is a manga created by Kouta Hirano before Hellsing that features a character similar to Millennium's Captain (named "Hans Günsche") . It was part of a manga anthology tankōbon published in 1996 called “Hi-Tension”, which contained a total of 10 oneshot mangas by Kouta Hirano. Desert Guardian was the second short story in the Hi-Tension lineup.
plot synopsis
The story takes place in the Middle East. Hans Günsche assists a small boy in the rescue of his sister from IDF soldiers who violated her.
Notable Differences from Hellsing
Unlike in the Hellsing series, this Captain actually speaks and he serves as a protagonist instead of an antagonist like in Hellsing.
