Young King OURs (ヤングキングアワーズ,, Yangu Kingu Awāzu) is a monthly seinen manga magazine aimed primarily at male audiences in Japan by Shōnen Gahōsha.
Overview
It releases issues specifically on the 30th of every month, and was launched in 1993 as a special edition of "Young King." According to the Japan Magazine Association, and in 2008, Young King OURs total circulation was 68,000 copies. The price for each issue is 500¥.
The main-line Hellsing series was serialized in Young King OURs, alongside notable works like Trigun, Excel Saga and more. The Hellsing manga appeared in 95 issues, and those 95 chapters were later condensed into 89 chapters when turned into a tankōbon volume by Shōnen Gahōsha.
History
It was first launched in 1993 as a special edition of "Young King." Since 1997, it has been published at a pace of several months, and in July 1998 (No. 40), it became an independent monthly magazine. From 1999 to 2001, additional and derivative magazines such as "-2000", "-Light", and "-Plus" were published, but they were all short-lived and suspended. Young King OURs-plus, a sister magazine of YKO was notable for having been the one to publish issues in which, Hellsing's prequel, The Dawn, is in. OURs+ issues were not on as strict a schedule as YKO proper.
