Badrick (ベイドリック,, Beidorikku)is a fictional town located in Northern Ireland which becomes the subject of a territory dispute between the Protestant Hellsing organization and the Catholics of the Vatican. Northern Ireland being both part of the UK and a religiously Catholic territory, both Hellsing and the Vatican send agents to Badrick to handle the vampire situation there, leading to the first of several clashes between Alucard and Father Alexander Anderson.

Information

Description

Badrick is a sizable seaside town, with lots of residential buildings and some sort of large, curved wall by the water's edge (perhaps a dam or sea wall). It appears to be quite isolated, as most of the surrounding area is either water or empty fields. Its most notable building is a squat, two-story building of indeterminate purpose located on the outskirts of town, where the main action of the story arc takes place; the building is filled with many relatively small rooms and uniform corridors, suggesting some commercial purpose, like a hotel or a hospital. Whatever its purpose, the number of ghouls present in the building suggests a large number of occupants.

Involvement

The Hellsing Organisation sends Alucard and his fledgling, Seras Victoria, to Badrick to hunt down a vampire; however, due to the ongoing territorial dispute between Hellsing and the Vatican, their mission is interrupted by Alexander Anderson, who immobilizes Seras with several of his signature bayonets and erects a barrier of holy scriptures before revealing himself to Alucard. After a brief introductory conversation, they fight, and Alucard shoots Anderson point-blank in the forehead with the Casull, which downs him temporarily but doesn't kill him, revealing his status as a Regenerator. The reveal gives Anderson the upper hand, and he manages to impale Alucard against a wall before lopping his head off.

While Anderson gloats over his apparent victory, he notices Seras attempting to escape and moves to kill her, but Integra intervenes to protect her. Anderson refuses to back down, calls Integra a "Protestant whore," and swiftly cuts down her two bodyguards, but he's prevented from killing Integra herself by the newly regenerated Alucard. They fight again, and Anderson, realizing he's outmatched, retreats.
