D (ディー,, Dī) is the fifth arc of the Hellsing series. Spanning in the last few chapters of volume 4 to three-quarters of volume 5, the arc deals with the occupied HMS Eagle by Millennium agent Rip Van Winkle as the Hellsing Agency sends Alucard to deal with the vampiric lieutenant.
Summary
Alexander Anderson and Enrico Maxwell discuss a plan to attack both Millennium and Hellsing in a flank attack at a precise timing, while The Major announces "Operation Sea Lion 2" after making a grandiose speech. Elsewhere, the British VTOL aircraft carrier "HMS Eagle" is successfully hijacked by Millennium's Rip Van Winkle and a small set of forces, causing the Queen to dispatch Hellsing Agency director, Sir Integra, to course correct Sir Shelby M. Penwood's direction of the fiasco, much to the laughter of the military brass who found themselves too prideful. After a failed attempt to launch the SAS unit on the aircraft carrier, Integra declares that she will act independently and sends Alucard to the carrier via SR-71. Alucard proceeds to battle the terrified and utterly outmatched Rip Van Winkle as The Major soon watches through Schrödinger's tablet, commending Rip Van's purpose to serve as bait to strand Alucard as the Last Battalion marches towards the unsuspecting London population with their zeppelin.
