This is a comprehensive list of all story arcs in the Hellsing series.
The names for the individual arcs are taken from excerpts of the 2025 Kohta Hirano Expo and the DVD releases for the anime, respectively. From volume 5 and onwards, these collective storylines are often summed up as the "London War Arc."
The Hellsing Agency, more formally known as the "Order of Royal Protestant Knights," is a secret government agency created to hunt down and eliminate the Anti-Christ monsters running rampant beneath the public eye of London, with their trump card being a vampire himself named "Alucard." In the late 20th century, the agency is run by Sir Integral Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing as she curiously wonders about the sudden numerous occurrences of vampiric incidents. In Cheddar Village, Alucard took in a young police girl, "Seras Victoria," as a vampire, after which she began working with Hellsing under the guidance of Alucard. During the suppression of an incident in Northern Ireland, Alucard and Seras are caught by surprise by the sudden attack from the deadliest agent belonging to the Iscariot Agency, Alexander Anderson.
A meeting between the Round Table Council is called upon by Sir Integra and is held at the Hellsing Headquarters, while Alucard and Seras Victoria both respectively receive newweapons from Walter C. Dornez, but the headquarters is then suddenly ambushed by the Valentine Brothers. After a fierce battle that resulted in the many deaths of Hellsing guards, the agency soon finds a new replacement in a hired mercenary group, the Wild Geese, led by Pip Vernedead, although on a hasty decision. Integra is soon invited by Iscariot Agency director, Enrico Maxwell, to a meeting in the Imperial War Museum, in which they soon learn the truth about the enigmatic clue given to them by Jan Valentine.
Alucard, Seras Victoria, and Pip Vernedead are sent to Rio de Janeiro by Sir Integra in hopes of learning more about Millennium after finding out that they are linked to the remnants of the Nazis who fled to South America. In the nighttime, Alucard's suite is suddenly barged in by a tactical police unit of the Military Police of Rio de Janeiro State; all members are then swiftly killed until Alucard reaches ground level. Alucard soon finds out that the leaders of the unit were manipulated into working for Millennium under the promise of "immortality" by an agent under the name of Tubalcain Alhambra, who proceeds to battle with Alucard, which results in many casualties, as Vernedead soon swiftly takes out the leaders of the operation and then hijacks a television station news helicopter. The battle reaches the top of the Rio hotel, where it culminates in its climax.
The true meaning behind "Millennium" is a secret faction led by The Major codenamed "The Last Battalion," a plan to produce vampires artificially that was supposedly foiled by the Hellsing Agency near the end of World War II. From his hideout somewhere in the forests of Great Britain, The Major returns to South America, while Alucard, Seras Victoria, and Pip Vernedead return to Britain via a private jet employed by the Vatican. Alucard and others arrive at a Royal Family Villa where a Round Table meeting is held. Right after informing his surroundings about the true identity of Millennium, Schrödinger interrupts but insists that he is a messenger, later displaying The Major through a satellite signal through a tablet, who proceeds to declare war.
The British VTOL aircraft carrier "HMS Eagle" is successfully hijacked by Millennium's Rip Van Winkle and a small set of forces, causing the Queen to dispatch Hellsing Agency director Sir Integra to course correct Sir Shelby M. Penwood's direction of the fiasco, much to the laughter of the military brass, who found themselves too prideful. After a failed attempt to launch the SAS unit on the aircraft carrier, Integra declares that she will act independently and sends Alucard to the carrier via SR-71. Alucard proceeds to battle the terrified and utterly outmatched Rip Van Winkle while The Major soon watches through Schrödinger's tablet, commending Rip Van's purpose to serve as bait to strand Alucard as the Last Battalion marches towards the unsuspecting London population with their zeppelin.
Across Great Britain, Millennium launches a simultaneous surprise attack on all military facilities, with the main and most powerful force gathered to invade London, resulting in the area becoming a deadly battlefield. In an act of noble sacrifice, Sir Shelby M. Penwood and his men volunteer to sacrifice themselves, allowing Sir Integra and Walter to escape. Rushing to the headquarters with a vehicle, Walter stops to face a familiar old foe, leaving Integra to fend for herself as she is then cornered by small forces of Millennium but is saved at the last second by Alexander Anderson and his Armed Priest Vanguard. Meanwhile, on a nearby island across the Strait of Dover, Enrico Maxwell is appointed Archbishop and is given command of the Ninth Crusade by the Pope as Alucard smells a familiar scent, nearing his way to the Thames River by steering the HMS Eagle with telekinesis.
Zorin Blitz's zeppelin reaches closer to the manor until Seras Victoria uses her newly manufactured Harkonnen II artillery to reduce Zorin's fighting strength to less than half, crashing the zeppelin to the fields close to the headquarters. However, with Zorin's illusionary powers, the Millennium battalion is able to break through the defenses head-on, mercilessly killing remnants of the Wild Geese as the remaining members are forced to regroup and be split into divisions before there were only four survivors and Seras Victoria, who they rely upon in cleaning house. Vernedead sacrifices and offers his blood to the distraught Seras, who begins unlocking her true vampiric capabilities. Seras begins her final stand against Zorin's forces.
The Ninth Crusade reaches London, fighting against the Last Battalion while simultaneously massacring London civilians in an act of betrayal against Hellsing and the United Kingdom by the assertion of "justice" rendered by the Inquisition. Multilateral warfare soon ensues between the Last Battalion, Ninth Crusaders, and the remnants of the Hellsing Agency, whose numbers multiplied by hundreds of thousands once Alucard reached London and released Level Zero, letting loose the numerous souls that had lain dormant in him, flooding the city and wiping out the Crusaders and Last Battalion. When Anderson declares the Ninth Crusaders lost after having killed Maxwell, he challenges Alucard, who graciously fought back after reuniting with Integra and Seras.
Walter C. Dornez, the butler who defected to the Last Battalion due to a grudge he had secretly held against Alucard for all his life, stands in the way of Hellsing. After a hard-fought battle against her inner consciousness, she orders Alucard to kill Walter, causing The Major to relent and allow both Seras Victoria and Sir Integra to enter the main zeppelin. Alucard's battle with Walter begins as Seras and Integra enter the zeppelin to finish the war that dates back to 1944.
When Alucard starts usurping the blood of the dead combatants and civilians of London, Schrödinger decapitates himself and allows his essence to be devoured by Alucard as a part of The Major's plan. Unaware of his failure, Walter C. Dornez's repeated request is shut down by The Major, who declares himself to be the winner of the war, after which Alucard disappears from the plane of existence. Sir Integra watches in horror, and Seras Victoria breaks through the glass defense that stood in the way with an artillery cannon, penetrating through The Major and the zeppelin, revealing his true state as a cyborg. The Major is then killed by Integra, while The Professor is put down by Walter, who himself is ultimately killed due to his deteriorating body. Integra and Seras then escape the fiery zeppelin.
