Monster (化物めモンスター,, Monsutā) is a collective term describing several creatures believed to be opposed both to and by God. Possessed of preternatural strengths and weaknesses, as well as monstrous instincts and an inborn predation towards humanity, monsters are common antagonists in the Hellsing series.

Types of Monsters

Vampires

Main article: Vampires

Vampires are the main characters and antagonists of the Hellsing series. They are supernaturally strong and fast beings that hunt and feed on humans, often controlling a larger army of ghouls. They are divided primarily into two groups: true vampires, humans converted into vampires naturally via drinking human blood or being bitten by another true vampire, and artificial vampires, humans converted into vampires by Millennium.

Alucard is the most prominent vampire and a true vampire, followed by Seras Victoria, a Draculina.

Werekin

Main article: Werekin

Werekin are humans that exhibit animal-like qualities. There are very few Werekin ever seen in Hellsing. Only two were ever known: The Captain and Schrödinger, a Werewolf and a Werecat, respectively, who threw their lot in with the Millennium Organization. With both The Captain and Schrödinger dead, it is possible that the Werekin are extinct.

Ghouls

Main article: Ghouls

Ghouls are undead monsters that are created when a vampire drains a deflowered human. They are driven by the desire to consume human flesh and are totally subservient to the vampire that turned them. Despite their lack of higher brain function, they still have the ability to control weapons and work as a functional army.
