The Hellsing manga by Kohta Hirano ran in Shonengahosha's seinen magazine Young King OURs from 1997 to 2008, with its 95 chapters collected into 10 tankōbon volumes and condensed into 89 chapters. In 2001, a Hellsing anime by studio Gonzo aired on Fuji Television from October 10, 2001, to January 16, 2002, while the English dub ran in the United States from October 4, 2003, to December 27, 2003, on Starz!'s Encore Action cable channel. An OVA was announced the following year under the title of "Hellsing: Ultimate," with its first DVD volume released by Geneon in 2006. The series ended when the final DVD volume was released by NBCUniversal in 2012, while the United States run of the series finished in 2014 due to complicated rights issues when Geneon USA went defunct.

Synopsis
Frame3
The Hellsing Agency, a secret branch of the British government, has long been battling supernatural threats to keep the people safe from creatures of the night. Its current leader, Integra Hellsing, controls her own personal army to eliminate the undead beings, but even her highly trained soldiers pale in comparison to her most trusted vampire exterminator, Alucard, who is actually a powerful vampire himself. Along with Integra's mysterious butler and Alucard's new vampire minion, Seras Victoria, the Hellsing Agency must face not only regular ghouls and vampires, but also a rivaling secret branch of the Vatican and a mysterious group of madmen spawned by a certain war over 55 years ago.
