Synopsis
In 1996, The Vatican city received a report that one of their relief centers located in a Palestinian refugee camp had been recently raided by an anti-jewish Islamic extremist group, titled Avlah Aqvalah for a ransom of $10 million for the safe return of the hostages. Bishop Maxwell of the Iscariot agency reassures a Vatican official that the problematic guard stationed with the group will assure their victory.
A short while later, In the Palestinian refugee camp, located in the Beka’a plateau, the extremist group have already started executing multiple hostages, the leader of the group, Aphram, receives the news that the $10 million is being prepared but continues the executions, revealing his plan of taking the money whilst also executing all of the hostages to please Allah. He decides on executing a certain nun with glasses next, ignoring the pleading of a priest that he kill him instead. He knocks the nun down, approaching her and pointing a pistol to her head.
Before he can fire the gun, Aphram is told to wait as a figure suddenly appears and approaches. He recognizes her as a Vatican secret agent, deciding on keeping the nun alive for the time being. He holds the nun close and keeps the gun near her head, demanding the secret agent to not do anything funny and just hand over the money or he would kill the nun. The secret agent looks at the nun, recognizing her and calling her Yumiko, muttering to herself whilst approaching. Yumiko also recognizes the agent, revealing her name as Heinkel. Heinkel approaches the two, questioning Yumiko on her guard status, she asks about a ‘Yumie’, to which Yumiko responds that Yumie is asleep and desperately pleads to Heinkel to keep her asleep, saying she doesn't want any more jobs.
As Heinkel approaches, Aphram questions the two women on what they are talking about while Yumiko keeps pleading for Heinkel to stop, Heinkel ignores both of them, saying goodnight to Yumiko and good morning to Yumie as she unexpectedly speeds forward and punches yumiko in the face, shocking everyone present and knocking Yumiko into unconsciousness. Aphram, still in shock, demands an explanation from Heinken, who responds that she hasn't brought any money with her, stating that “The Vatican doesn't have a penny to spare for a bunch of heathens.” Aphram questions her again as Heinkel suddenly pulls out two pistols, firing at the extremists and killing multiple of them. As she fires, Heinkel shouts for Yumie to wake up.
The scene shifts back to Bishop Maxwell and the Vatican official, Maxwell is explaining the multiple personalities of Yumiko Takagi. The official is questioning her status as a guard, but Maxwell defends his choice. According to Maxwell, whilst she is Yumiko, she is harmless and couldn't hurt an insect, but her power whilst she is Yumie more than makes up for it, labeling her “A berserker”.
Back in the refugee camp, one of the extremists, seeing Heinkel's assault on their group, becomes enraged at the remaining priests, aiming his weapon at them as a dark figure rises up behind him. He gets ready to fire as he is suddenly grabbed by the head from behind and slammed into a nearby wall, killing him. The figure is revealed to be a now awakened Yumie, who calls the group "damned heathen jackals” and tells them all to go to hell. Heinkel sees Yumie awaken, who then asks Heinkel where the targets are and that she’ll help her. Heinkel throws something at Yumie, who catches it and unwraps it to reveal her katana.
Yumie cutting down multiple Avlah Aqlavah members.
Aphram sees Yumie and questions whether she is the same scared girl from before as three others from the group aim their weapons at Yumie. Yumie draws her katana, quickly slashing through and dismembering the three before they can react. Heinkel trains her gun on Aphram, who has taken a priest hostage and is threatening to kill him if they did anything. Yumie tells him to do it, with Heinkel saying that the priest is willing to sacrifice himself so they can defeat the enemy. Yumie tells Aphram that they’ll never forget the priest's sacrifice and that he should not underestimate Catholics. She explains that catholic history is one filled with conflict and that they’ve built themselves into the mightiest of religions because of it.
Heinkel executing Aphram.
Heinkel, still approaching, names the Vatican the Earthly agent of Yahweh and states that pagans will never defeat them. Aphram, now terrified, aims his pistol at Heinkel, naming them and the Vatican infidel dogs before his arm is swiftly sliced in two by Yumie. Heinkel grabs him by the face and places her gun to his head as he screams out “Jesus!” before she shoots him in the head. The priest, frozen in fear, is approached by the two women, who briefly try to reassure him before he screams at them in fear to stay away. Heinkel, seeing the other priests whispering about them, decides to leave, dragging Yumie away as she tries to explain that they were bluffing about sacrificing the priest.
Two days later, at the Vatican, Heinkel and Yumie are shown a news report by Bishop Maxwell detailing the events of the raid of the relief center. In the report, eye witnesses describe a two person team of assassins dressed like a nun and a priest killing all of the terrorists. Maxwell loudly berates the two of them for killing the terrorists instead of simply extracting the kidnapped, further reprimanding them for doing it whilst dressed in catholic attire. Heinkel sheepishly requests for Maxwell to cover their expenses, to which Maxwell explains that the Pope himself is now angry at him, questioning how they expect him to reimburse the two now. Heinkel tries pinning the blame on Yumie, explaining that money for travel and ammo isn't trivial and saying she didn't realize, with Maxwell screaming at them to shut up.
