The Queen (女王,, Joō; OVA: The Ever-Beautiful Queen) is a pivotal character in the Hellsing series created by Kohta Hirano. She is voiced by Toshiko Fujita in the Japanese sub and Pamela Salem in the English dub.

Head of the Commonwealth and the Anglican Church, she calls upon a meeting between Iscariot and the Round Table Council in order to discuss Millennium.

History

Though it was rare that she called upon a meeting herself, she did so when she learns about the Last Battalion. Alucard expresses great interest when Sir Integra informs him over the phone that The Queen will be making an appearance at the Round Table Council meeting. Upon his arrival, The Queen asks to see him. Out of respect, Alucard removes his glasses and approaches her.

They speak to each other as old friends, with The Queen holding his face in her hands and remarking how he hasn't aged a day. Alucard's reaction is that of fondness, commenting on how she was "...still that same saucy filly from fifty years ago," but he retracted that statement and stated that "...now, you are truly beautiful, Queen." After their reunion, Alucard gives her his full report on the new threat. After the Major delivered his dramatic war declaration to the room, The Queen gives Hellsing and Alucard one order: Bring them all down.

Abilities

The Queen of England is a powerful ruler who has control over England. She is also the supreme leader of the Hellsing Organisation and the Round Table Council.^[2][3]

• She is briefly mentioned in the anime on Episode 12.
• In the English commentary on OVA IV, Ralph Lister (the voice actor for Walter) asked voice director Taliesen Jaffe if there was any kind of attraction between Alucard and The Queen. Jaffe commented that he was confident that they had "shagged" at one point in the past. This has not been confirmed by Hirano.
• Though unnamed, it is likely The Queen is Elizabeth the Second, seeing as Hellsing mainly took place in 1999 and Queen Elizabeth was the current monarch at the time.
