ANGELOUS《Dark Horse: Angelus》is the ninth chapter of Hellsing: Volume 7, and the overall fifty-sixth chapter of the Hellsing manga created by Kohta Hirano.
Summary
Enrico Maxwell initiates his plan to reclaim England, declaring the Ninth Crusade to be the agents of the Angel of Death, sentencing the "accused" England and Freaks to be executed. The Major looks on, surprised to see the teeth Maxwell is displaying, but not entirely displeased. He commands his troops to assemble with the additional preparations of counter-UV ray equipment. The battle lines are drawn as Last Battalion and the Ninth Crusade stare each other down. As Maxwell commences the battle, The Major is too enthralled with the battle; ignoring The Professor's worry, he raises his arms as if he were conducting hell's symphony of death and destruction.
Synopsis
In hysteria, Maxwell renders the inquisitor's judgment on England and Freaks alike
The signal flares resembling multiple angels announce the arrival of the Ninth Crusade, shocking London residents who deem them to be their savior, only for Enrico Maxwell to usher the survivors into a new wave of terror, proclaiming the Ninth Crusade to be agents of the Angel of Death as an inquisitor who will render its judgment: "Execution" to the accused "England" and "Freaks." Maxwell continues his deranged speech, not offering the Protestants his forgiveness and shouting for them to die in vain, like "fruitless, burning flowers." Atop the Deus Ex Machina, The Major commends Maxwell's speech, remarking, "He is not bad when he puts his mind to it."
The Major orders the Last Battalion troops to assemble
As the Ninth Crusade forces inch closer towards the heart of London, the Last Battalion troops are ordered to assemble with the counter-UV ray equipment by The Major. The Professor struggles with the windy altitude, pleading for The Major to return inside; his pleas fall on deaf ears when The Major turns around to the condition of their "project," which The Professor informs him has gone well with a wonderful frame of work, although extremely unstable as a result of a rushed surgery. The Professor then proceeds to bicker with Schrödinger over his unimpressed attitude and presumed laziness, which Schrödinger takes offense to.
The ensuing standoff preceding the second stage of the war
The assembled troops of the Ninth Crusade stare down the Ninth Crusade forces who had landed, pleasing Maxwell, whose insanity progresses as the war continues to develop. He commands attention to see the eradication of their enemies before ordering a swift execution of the Last Battalion troops for the Ninth Crusade with a swing of his right arm. Immediately, two opposing sides began to trade firepower, which dealt many casualties. The Major's Deus Ex Machina is assaulted by the helicopters of the Ninth Crusade forces, who unleash their payload all at once, forcing The Professor to take cover.
The Professor's ever-increasing pleas are ignored by The Major, who slowly raises his arm to conduct the battlefield. As an unsuspecting helicopter rises from the flames of "Hell," he continues his play, stating that he is playing battlefield music that no one can interfere with.
