Summary

After holding a private funeral for the fallen members of the Hellsing Agency, Walter C. Dornez reports to a somber Integra Hellsing about the fatalities and his research on Millennium. After much speculation, Integra concludes that the Millennium Group is connected to the Third Reich. In a bid to increase manpower following the devastating attack on the Hellsing Headquarters, Walter recruits the mercenary group known as the Wild Geese and integrates them into Hellsing's security forces. After talking with the members of the Wild Geese, Walter, Hellsing's butler, brings a letter to Integra, which she reads: "Vatican Section XIII... The Iscariot Agency."

Synopsis

In the aftermath of the siege on the Hellsing Headquarters, Integra Hellsing holds a private funeral for those who died in battle. Walter C. Dornez, in respect, states, "[Hellsing's] fellow knights who fell in the service of Queen, Country, and the Protestant Church... [They] salute [them]!!" In response, Seras Victoria and the other seven survivors of the assault salute. Later, back in the Hellsing Headquarters, Walter informs Integra that their priority is the rebuilding of the Headquarters and that out of the 96 members, only 10 survived the attacks; however, they survived because they were away from the base. Integra tells Walter that he failed to include Seras Victoria and Alucard in the numbers of technicality, in which she and Walter were the only survivors. Walter responds that they were technically already dead.

She is then reminded of the ongoing investigation in regard to the Millennium Group, in which Walter reports that nothing of note was found even when many government agencies were examining the situation. Integra "humphs" when Walter gives an account of a Star Wars group in Los Angeles, to which Walter apologizes. She continues by rounding it off to that they have no information whatsoever, seemingly frustrated. However, Walter makes notes of the fundamental meaning of millennium: "Ten centuries, one thousand years." Having an idea, Integra hypothesizes about "the group that challenged the entire world for the glory of the Millennium Empire" half a century ago: Nazi Germany.

Subsequently, Integra orders Walter to proceed with the investigation and overlook nothing. Walter then remarks about the replacement of the staff members, noting that hiring from the British military would be impossible because it is "unnatural to transfer so many," so he employed pro mercenaries. When Integra shows concerns about their trustworthiness, Walter assures her that as long as they are paid under contract, then the "Wild Geese" would never betray them. In a room, the Wild Geese group awaits the appearance of Integra. The leader, Pip Vernedead, makes a humorous joke about killing "monsters," to which they scoff and laugh.

Integra appears and grabs their attention by saying that it is true; she then continues by explaining vampires, after which she is met with someone calling her "barmy." Then, they insist that vampires do not exist, to which Integra explains that they simply have not been informed. Explaining the origins of the Hellsing Agency, she introduces them to a vampire and points at Seras Victoria. Vernedead sweats and questions if that is the case to Seras, who confirms nervously. In reply, the Wild Geese proceed to hold their laughter, and then Integra tells Seras to show them proof. She snaps her fingers, but before she can do anything, Vernedead laughs hysterically and says that if she is a vampire, then he is Frankenstein.

He is met by Seras flicking him, which sends him back. Then, Seras challenges Vernedead and says that she will only be allowed to flick her fingers. Confused, he is then met by three more flicks by Seras, which send him dropping to the floor with his nose broken and bleeding. Seras then rests her case by affirming that she is a vampire. Baffled, Vernedead asks once again, but this time he is responded to by Alucard, who phases through the wall and then remarks, "Among us she's the lowest of the low... but she's obviously a vampire." This freaked out the Wild Geese, who screamed in fear.

Alucard then mocks the Wild Geese but is stopped by Integra, and then Walter hastily barges in and explains that he tried to stop him. Alucard points out that they will be the ones guarding his bed, so he wants to see what kind of men they are. However, Walter then informs Integra that a note was sent to them. He hands it over to Integra and points out to her that she should read the sender, which shocks Integra. Tensed, Integra says that the note was sent to them by the Iscariot Agency.
