Summary
Zamiel, the Hunter Demon King, makes his appearance before the Legendary Demonic Hunter, Casper. For the Hunter's action in presuming to flirt with the dead, they shall join their ranks. Just as it is within "Der Freischütz," Rip Van Winkle will soon have her soul dragged into hell by her "Zamiel" equivalent, Alucard; however, she is not ready for that fate, meeting it with unending terror.
Synopsis
The wreckage and immediate explosion of the nose-diving SR-71 "Blackbird" causes multiple Millennium vampires to perish by the blast, having their body severed by the shrapnel or pieces of the jet. Rip Van Winkle stands in terror and awe of the flaming Blackbird shaped similar to a cross and the corpses of her men, then she witnesses the presence of Alucard within the smokes and blazing flames, terrifying her. In her terror, she recalls the ending to the opera that she loves dearly, "Der Freischütz," from which she named and based her ability, "Magic Bullet," after.
Rip Van remembers her conversation with The Major, in which he expresses his approval and impression of Rip Van's ability, which is equated to that of the "Legendary Demonic Hunter" from Der Freischütz. However, he tells her to be aware and take heed of her "Zamiel," who took Caspar to hell for dallying with him, then Caspar's corpse is cast into the Wolf's Glen: "For if thou presumeth to flirt with spirits, thou shalt join them." He once again warns her that Zamiel may just appear before her, as it did with Caspar. Finally realizing that Alucard is her Zamiel, she panics, not ready to die. She stares over Alucard's palm, reaching her slowly, helplessly, until she is saved by her soldiers, who begin firing at him viciously, shredding his body to pieces.
Rip Van takes cover as the soldiers lay waste, using everything and anything (including explosives) to take down Alucard. The commander tells Rip Van to "pull herself together" as a Werwolf. He reminds the men that The Major's arrival is not too long and that they must survive. Before then, he witnesses Alucard recovering. The commander dubs Alucard a "freak" and a "product of madness" before ordering the continuation of the assault, promptly ordering the use of hand grenades once Alucard creates a barrier with his shadow.
However, Alucard's arms rise towards the moon, with six muscular arms that follow suit composed of a dark substance. Alucard scowls and thrusts his arms forward, commanding the attack as the arms lay squandered to the troopers, creating more arms, and proceeds with the slaughter as the commander observes in daunt before being snatched from behind by the arm and bisected. The HMS Eagle is in ruins, with smoke looming over the sky. Rip Van cowers in fear of Zamiel, who reshapes back into his formal form and stands firm in front of Caspar.
