SWORD DANCER ②《Sōdodansā-ni》is the fifth chapter of Hellsing: Volume 1, and the overall fifth chapter of the Hellsing manga created by Kohta Hirano. It is the second part of Sword Dancer.
Summary
Amidst the fierce confrontation between Alucard and Anderson, Integra Hellsing explains the origins of Iscariot and speculates what would happen in an encounter between Anderson and Alucard; this sudden realization shocked and worried her, so she orders Walter C. Dornez, the Hellsing Agency butler, to negotiate with the Vatican, while Integra goes on ahead to Badrick in order to stop further damage. In a staredown, the two slowly walked towards each other before reaching a standoff. Then, Alucard manages to get the upper hand until an ability Anderson possesses shocks the No-Life King.
Synopsis
After being told that the one the Vatican specifically had sent is Father Anderson, a member of Iscariot who specializes in neutralizing monsters, Integra speculates about what would happen if he were to confront Alucard. Only then do she and Dextely Alphensys come to a realization and go on a frenzy. Quickly, Integra Hellsing calls Walter C. Dornez, the Hellsing family butler, in order to negotiate with the Vatican, to which he says that it is something he has already been doing. She is later informed that Anderson is their Trump Card, much like how Alucard is to them, which made her let out a heavy sigh. Integra stands up and states that she is going to Badrick as well, leaving negotiations to Walter and ordering Alphensys to bring her, her bodyguards, and her weapons.
Standoff
In Badrick, Anderson and Alucard enter a staredown. Hearing Seras Victoria's moan of pain, Anderson compliments her voice. He then goes on explaining his reasons for aiming his bayonets at her torso, yet avoiding the heart, stating that since it has been a long time since he had fought a vampire, he wants to have fun. Anderson goes on calling Alucard and Seras "Hellsing's mongrels" after Alucard guesses the agency Anderson belongs to correctly. Walking forward slowly, Anderson asks if he is indeed the "Alucard" that everyone has been talking about, to which Alucard confirms while also asking about the vampire host, to which Anderson says that he had dealt with him a long time ago.
Alucard proceeds to also walk slowly towards Anderson. Before then, they stop after both of them are behind each other's backs, entering a standoff. After a short while, Anderson turns his back to Alucard, armed with his blessed bayonets to strike Alucard through the neck, only for Alucard to quickly react back and plunge Anderson with a bullet in the head at point-blank range from the .454 Casull as Anderson's body ragdolls to the door behind. Taking off the bayonets from his torso, Alucard orders Seras to not speak. Then, he compliments the priest for his bravery in attacking him head-on in the night but also calls him a fool for doing so. Alucard informs Seras that they need to avoid weapons blessed with holy materials.
Alucard, fixed onto the wall by Anderson
He walks slowly towards Seras to lend a hand; only then does Anderson stand up once again and giggle, shocking both Alucard and Seras. Caught off-guard, Alucard is then impaled from behind by Anderson's bayonets before forcing himself out of Anderson's grip and leaping forward as Anderson maniacally laughs. Turning around, Alucard quickly pulls out his .454 Casull and starts shooting Anderson rapidly, hitting him in vital points that would normally kill a human. Yet, Anderson quickly gets up from the floor, then rushes forward towards the stunned Alucard, who attempted to shoot, grabbing him by the arm, trampling him against the wall behind him, and skewering bayonets through both of his hands, attaching him to the wall.
Anderson manically laughs after decapitating Alucard
Smiling gleefully, Anderson shows off his regenerative capabilities as a "Regenerator," something Alucard guessed correctly, to which Anderson explains that it is a technique humanity had developed in order to fight off monsters. Before then, Anderson throws multiple bayonets through Alucard's torso and impales him as he did to Seras. Laughing as Seras screams out, "Master." Outside, the helicopter of Integra lands along with her bodyguards—entering the building hastily, stating that if Alucard's gotten into a fight, then their absolute priority is to stop the fight.
